The Alligator Head Foundation was established to support the East Portland Fish Sanctuary and the research efforts of the Alligator Head Marine Lab. We develop projects to assist the communities dependent on marine resources for their livelihood through the development of ecotourism and sustainable livelihood programmes. It is our intention to replicate the highly successful model of the coastal community of Cabo Pulmo, Mexico.
The foundation also has a focus to work with contemporary art, digital media, food, culture and music production as well as actively contributing to the protection and preservation of the world´s natural resources and the environment, with a particular focus on the oceans. We work at the intersection of Art and the Environment weaving stories and protecting cultural diversity.
